Why natural products?

You may ask 'what is the difference between the store bought products and natural products?' That is an excellent question, and I used to ask the same thing before I started making my products.

The skin is our largest organ and what we use on it finds its way into our bodies. We can eat healthy, exercise and try to have a healthy lifestyle, but we also have to consider what we are putting into our bodies through our skin.

Even with the so-called 'natural products' you need to be aware. Some products may be significantly more expensive because they claim to be 'natural' or 'organic', but often it's just a claim and cannot be substantiated.

As an example, a friend of mine came to me once saying that she purchases a specific brand because it helps her daughter's dry skin. She was paying a premium price and asked if I could add some of the same ingredients to my soap, and she would switch my soap instead. After researching the other product, I discovered that they use a chemical that is used in anti-freeze and a form of formaldehyde.

Sometimes being a brand name, it's just that. It doesn't make the product healthier or better. It just means that you are paying more to use a brand name product.

So before you buy a product because of its brand, price or health claims, do your research, because what you use on the outside affects your inside.
